For a period of three, six, or twelve months.

This visa's application fee ranges from AUD135 to AUD340.

If you hold a unique passport, you may be eligible for a free or low-cost visa.

The eVisitor (Subclass 651) visa is completely free of charge. You must have a passport from a certain nation.

Electronic Travel Authority (Subclass 601) permits come with a AUD20 service fee. You must have a passport from a certain nation.

Requirements

You may be eligible for this visa if you are travelling to Australia:

• As a visitor
• For business visitor activities
• To visit family
• On tour with a registered travel agent from the People's Republic of China.

If you are presently in Australia, you can apply for a tourist visa online if you hold a valid visa that is not subject to 8503.

Only a few passport holders can apply for this visa online if they are outside of Australia.

If you are unable to apply online, you may submit an application on paper.

What this visa lets you do

This visa allows you to come to Australia for a holiday or to visit family and friends.

We will tell you how often you can enter Australia on this visa:

• You may only be allowed one entry. If so, you will need to apply for a new visa if you want to return to Australia after leaving.
• Once your visa is valid you may be able to travel to and from Australia as often as you like, but the total time you have spent in Australia cannot exceed the length of your stay that you have been granted.
