The 485 Visa is a temporary visa that allows transnational scholars who have lately completed a 2 year study from an Australian educational institution to live and work in the country for a time period of 3 to 4 years.

This is a temporary visa. The primary applicant must be in Australia when applying for a 485 visa, and must have a valid student visa within a period of 6 months prior to residency.

Basic qualifications

• You must Be less than 50 years old
• You must Have a valid visa
• You have to Get recent qualification in CRICOS-registered course
• You can Nominate only one stream - it is not possible to change the visa stream after you apply
• You need to Attach special proof when you apply

General requirements

• Age: The main applicant should be less than 50 years of age on the date of admission.
• English: The main applicant must demonstrate their English language ability, either by holding a certain type of passport or by taking an English test. Proof of threshold English must be provided on the date of ranking
• Study in Australia: You must meet 2 years of study requirements and qualify within six months of applying for a visa.
• Point Test: The Temporary Graduate Subclass 485 visa is not a point test.

• Stay in Australia for a period of time that coincides with the activities you are allowed to do on this visa. Maximum stay allowed:
• Graduate work sluice-up to 18 months
• Perform the task or activity specified in your application
• As long as your visa is valid, enter and leave Australia as often as you like.
