The Experienced Independent Subdivision 189 visa is an irreversible points-tested visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an Australian firm, a family member, or nominated by a state or region.

Profession and skills

Your line of employment must be on the appropriate list of qualified professionals. To demonstrate that you have the skills and credentials to work in your chosen field, you must complete a successful ability assessment with an approved examining authority.

Factors Examination & Invitation

It is preferable to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and be accepted to acquire this visa.

COMPANION

Your married or de facto partner might be of the same or opposite sex. Applicants must confirm the following:

• The relationship is genuine and also active
• When the application is submitted, your companion must be at least 18 years old (there are some exceptions).
• You are not connected by blood or marriage (if you are in a de facto partnership).
• You and your companion have a common commitment to everyday life to the exclusion of all else, and you also live together or separately on an irreversible basis.

CHILDREN

A child must meet the following criteria in order to be included in or contribute to an 189 visa:

• Be your child or a stepchild from a past or ongoing relationship (in certain circumstances).
• You must not be married, engaged to be married, or have a de facto partner, and you must be under the age of 18.
• Or are over the age of 18 but under the age of 23, as well as rely on you or your companion.
• Or Over 23 years old and unable to earn a living due to physical or cognitive limitations, as well as reliant on you or your partner (Note: The kid will still be required to meet Australia's wellness requirement).
• Or a dependent kid of one of the children listed in 1, 2, or 3 above.

ENGLISH

Candidates above the age of 18 must demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively in English. If you meet the following criteria, you can demonstrate Functional English without taking an English test:
