The terms and conditions under which any Australian university will extend a student visa holder's program and COE:
- If there is evidence to back up the assessment and they believe there are 'compassionate or compelling' circumstances.
- An interference approach has been devised for the overseas student who is at risk of not fulfilling course advancement standards. If the interface approach is being implemented, CoE will apply again.
- If an international student's enrolment has been suspended.

Follow the steps to get a new CoE
- Complete the online course length change approval and CoE form. This must be submitted once.
- Please do not submit the form more than once as your application may be delayed.
- You may need to fill out this form and be approved by your faculty registrant / course advisor.
- After submitting the form, if you need to meet again, the faculty member will contact you.
- Online applications must be submitted at least 10 business days in advance, as it can take up to 10 business days to process a new CoE application.
- You will need a new CoE if you want to extend your student visa, then you will need to extend your OSHC to cover the new visa period.
- Once the Faculty has processed your application and recommended a new CoE, the new CoE may be mailed to you at the email address provided in your application.
