Trade recognition Australia, often known as TRA, manages the Job-Ready programme.

The job-ready programme assists in assessing a foreign student's capabilities and skills in an Australian workplace.
It is a competence evaluation programme for overseas students who have finished their degree and wish to work or study in Australia.
Assists in gaining experience in a genuine Australian workplace relating to one's vocation.
It is a four-step procedure.
Eligibility
- To be qualified for the Job Ready Program, you must have the following qualifications:
- In Australia, I completed a trade qualification.
- Studied a course related to a job on the Medium to Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
- Completed 360 hours of relevant practical employment or vocational placement in Australia Trade Recognition Australia (TRA) as a skilled assessor of your occupation
- Eligibility for a Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485)
Begin with the job-ready program.
Even if you have a low points score on the points score table, you may still be eligible for permanent residency based on your trade certification and Job Ready program.
Keep in mind:
- Check to see if the work readiness program outcome is appropriate for the visa subclass applicant should apply for.
- If you are applying for a temporary skill shortage visa subclass 482, you must first determine if your occupation is on the applicable occupational list.
Create an account on the TRA web portal once the above-mentioned items have been cleared away.
Every phase of the program must be applied for and paid for using this account.
Four steps of the job ready program
Step 1: Provisional Skill Assessment
The very first thing an applicant must do is pass a preliminary skill assessment. It is done to ensure the legitimacy of your qualifications and employment in Australian institutions.
This skills evaluation validates that you studied in Australia and received a trade certification, as well as that you have an IELTS score of at least 6 in all areas of English.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR PSA
- Create an account on the job-ready programme website to register online.
- Pay the money for the Provisional Skill Assessment.
- Submit your application and obtain a copy of your assessment summary.
- Send your assessment summary and all materials through email.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PSA
- To study as an international student in Australia, the candidate must hold a study visa.
- Should be qualified in a suitable vocation, as confirmed by the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) training organisation.
- Must have completed a minimum of 360 hours of work in Australia in the associated occupation relevant to the applicant's qualification. After a successful skills assessment, an applicant can apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa and continue phase 2 of the Job Ready Program.
Step 2: Apply for Temporary Graduate Visa and Job Ready Employment
- Apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa-Subclass 485 to gain full working privileges in Australia.
- JRE allows you to hone your abilities by gaining real-world experience in an Australian workplace.
- The candidate must complete a minimum of 1725 hours of paid work in a work setting certified by Trade Recognition Australia within a year (TRA)
- Participants must be working at the time TRA gets their registration paperwork for employment in order to be eligible for JRE.
JRE PROCESSING
Register on the website and enter the employer's information.
Print the JRE summary and attach all required papers to an email.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- A positive PSA test is required for the applicant.
- One must already hold a visa with full employment rights or have filed for a temporary graduate visa with at least a 12-month validity period.
- Employment in a TRA-relevant vocation is eligible.
Step 3: Assessing job readiness in the workplace
- JRWA, the evaluating authority, will determine whether or not your working skills meet the demands of the needed competence in the workplace.
- This evaluation is performed in your workplace by a TRA-approved assessor.
- If you have completed at least "863 hours" of paid employment in the last six months, an assessor will evaluate your skill level in the presence of your supervisor.
- This evaluation will determine whether or not you are completing all of the responsibilities specified in your job description, as well as how well you are performing them.
- If an applicant fails to demonstrate to the Assessor that they can perform at the requisite skill level, they may continue to work for the employer and take another workplace assessment at a later date.
JRWA PROCESSING
- TRA will provide you confirmation of your JRWA eligibility.
- Sign in and fill out all of the required fields.
- Please pay the fee.
- Print the JRWA summary and have your employer sign it.
- Send the summary along with all of the required documents via email.
JRWA ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- The candidate must be employed in a TRA-approved workplace.
- Evidence should be submitted demonstrating that the applicant has worked on paid job for at least 863 hours in the six months before the commencement date of the JRE program.
- This is the job-ready program's final evaluation, and if the final assessment is favourable, you will be given the job-ready program's results.
- This outcome may be useful in your General Skilled Migration visa application as well as others.
JRFA PROCESSING
- Sign in and finish the JRFA application.
- Please pay the charge.
- Please provide the information (proof of employment such as payslips, group certificates, statements of employment, and bank statements showing wages entering the account.) as well as printing the summary
- Send the summary together with the needed papers through email.
JRFA ELIGIBILITY
- Steps 1, 2, and 3 must have been successfully completed by the applicant.
- Should have given proof that he or she worked at least 1725 paid hours in a TRA-approved workstation during a 12-month period.
The Job Ready program allows you to apply for permanent residence in Australia.

On the basis of the Job Ready Program, you can apply for Permanent Residency visas such as General Skilled Migration Visa or Employer-Sponsored Visa after completing your entire skill evaluation.
